My son Charleston Goeppert was recently a patient in the UC Davis Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). I wanted to reach out to let you know how wonderful the nursing staff was. I am an RN myself and now provide care to my son 24/7 as he has SMA Type 1. Needless to say, I have a high standard of care that I require for my son and the nursing staff completely met my “standards” and were nothing short of wonderful. This was our second PICU stay with you guys. Our last one was four-ish years ago and that experience was wonderful as well.
We always choose for our son to be transported to UC Davis when PICU care is necessary because you guys truly are the best in my opinion! We have been in other PICU’s (for his trach and GT surgery), and I won’t mention where, but the care just doesn’t not come remotely close to what is delivered in your PICU. The nurses are kind, humble, responsive and smart. You have a wonderful staff and should be very proud of the staff you are directing. Thank you for providing such a wonderful environment for families like mine who require PICU care from time to time!
