The Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® mediathon will be broadcast on ABC10 KXTV in Sacramento beginning Friday, Aug. 18 at 4:30 a.m. ending at 11:35 p.m. Funds raised will benefit UC Davis Children’s Hospital, the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.

For the entire day during regular programming, ABC10 will feature unique, local stories of children who have been treated at UC Davis Children’s Hospital. These inspiring stories will demonstrate the life-saving work that takes place every day at UC Davis Children’s Hospital.

Joshua and Sara Hunt shared their son Johnathan’s story with ABC10 anchor Chris Thomas for the upcoming ABC10 Children’s Miracle Network Mediathon.

The modified mediathon will feature ABC10 talent at the children’s hospital during the day. Anchors Mark S. Allen and others will be live at UC Davis Children’s Hospital, where viewers will be asked to call in their donations to the toll-free number, 877-719-KIDS (5437) or make an online donation. Phone banks will be set up in the Pavilion lobby of the hospital. ABC10 will also be promoting the mediathon to its more than 547,000 social media followers on Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #Give4Kids.

“We are so grateful for our partners at ABC10 for making the mediathon possible and for the huge impact the funds raised will have on the lives of local sick and injured children. Give for kids and join us in making miracles,” said Jacquelyn Mills, senior director officer for Children’s Miracle Network at UC Davis.

Like all Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® fundraisers, funds raised stay local, meaning all funds donated to the mediathon will be given to UC Davis Children’s Hospital and stay right here in the Sacramento community.
